I bought this book for a friend who had gotten so worn out as a parent her kids ruled the home.... This book has given the parents the tool to be Mom and Dad and set the rules again. VERY good book, and is also recommended by Dr. Phil McGraw of the Dr. Phil show.
This is a common sense approach to parenting so lacking in todays world. I hope my daughters read it and take the advice offered seriously.How to brat proof you kids
I bought this book because my grandson, now 4 yrs. old, was getting the better of me and my wife, or at least that was the way we looked at it. Actually we were having fun with him, but he was trying to get control over every situation. Now not having this problem with raising our three children, now adults, we did not know what to do. This book was bought to help us get some insight as to this and other problems that may occur.
As it turns out, the real problem is the digital age we live in is changing the way the children look at things. Raising our children was easier as there was never this much technology to deal with. There was plenty, but we tried to help them to stay grounded, and did not give into their wanting to get all the new devices they wanted. No a days it is not possible to keep all this from them as the world as a whole expects them to know how to use all this stuff before starting school.
The book has given us many things to help though, and I would recommend it to anyone that needs that little extra help in their lives when dealing with the youngsters these days.
Easy read with good humor. Very good guidance. I'm a grandmother and wanted to read what she recommends. I bought one for my daughter who has 2 young children and I will be giving mine to another young mother who is close to me. I highly recommend this book to all parents--and grandparents, too.
